A SHRM Study was recently published on the ‘Green Workplace’, which they define as ‘a workplace that is environmentally sensitive, resource efficient & socially responsible. The key findings:
- 1/2 of HR professionals indicate they have a formal or informal environmental policy
- The top (3) intitiatives are: to encourage employees to work more environmentally friendly, to offer recycling programs and donating/discounting used furniture / supplies
- Nearly 7 / 10 HR professionals report the main driver as ‘contribution to society’
